Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to take the Executive Assessment (EA)?
Many Executive MBA programs now accept the Executive Assessment (EA) from GMAC instead of the GMAT. In order to determine whether you need to take the EA, GMAT, or GRE, check the website of your chosen EMBA program. In Dubai, both LBS and Insead accept the Executive Assessment.
I’m working. When should I start applying for my Executive MBA or graduate school?
The ideal time to start planning for your Executive MBA or graduate school is 6 months before you intend to apply. Beginning early gives you enough time to prepare for and ace your admissions tests, take more responsibility at work to improve your profile, be nice to the people you want to write your recommendations, and not lose your mind as you try to work and apply.
When should I start preparing for the EA?
You should start your Executive Assessment tutoring in Dubai once you know which Executive MBA program you’re applying to. Some students even manage to get a conditional acceptance based on their resume’ and essays. As long as the EMBA program is familiar with you, meaning you have initiated a dialogue with them, you should start your EA prep.
Should I take the EA twice?
It depends. If you have already started a dialogue with your chosen Executive MBA program, they will more than likely tell you the score they need from you on the EA. THIS SCORE IS USUALLY A 150. If you get a 150 on the EA, you should not take the EA again. Keep in mind that you can only tak the official EA two times.
Can I reduce the number of hours I have to prepare?
Yes you can. If you choose to only prepare for the Quantitative Section (math), you can complete roughly 10-12 hours of preparation instead of 20 hours. However, your tutor will not know if this reduction is an option until you complete a diagnostic test. Remember that private Executive Assessment tutoring in Dubai should be tailored to your needs rather than the institute or instructor’s needs.
How many hours do I have to study each week?
It depends on when you are taking the EA. If you are taking the EA in 6 weeks, you will need 2 lessons per week (4 hours total) and about 6 hours to complete the homework. Expect to study for 10 to 15 hours a week.
If you are taking the EA in a few months, you can do 1 lesson per week (2 hours) and complete the homework in 2 to 3 hours. We prefer this schedule for students because it allows them to integrate EA studying with their work, family, and other commitments. Students on this schedule also tend to score higher because they have time to complete more practice tests and integrate the lessons into how they take the EA.
Are there any tutoring terms and conditions?
Executive Assessment Tutoring in Dubai Terms and Conditions: The actual number of hours depends on student availability and scores from a diagnostic test. Fees are payable in advance in blocks of 10 hours. Discounts may be given for additional hours and preparation for multiple tests. Typical hours required for test preparation are as follows. A firm quotation will be provided prior to registration.
Can’t I just do troubleshooting?
Troubleshooting is appropriate for students that have already taken a test preparation course or have previously taken the test after significant study on their own. It is not as thorough as comprehensive preparation since the focus only on specific test topics. Once students complete an online diagnostic test and send the results to Apply Me, we will pinpoint your problem areas. Homework will be assigned to be completed prior to tutoring sessions.
Do you offer admissions assistance?
We do offer admissions consulting. We can help you with the entire process or just a few essays.
What will we do during the consultation?
During the consultation, we will discuss your education background, your preferences for universities and programs, and your long-term goals. Your consultant will explain how the application process works and what happens at each step in the process. We’ll make sure you know our prices, the terms and conditions, and how Apply Me can help you reach your goals.
Should I bring anything to the consultation?
In order to get the most out of your consultation, bring your transcripts or grades, test scores, resume’ or CV, and any other educational supporting documentation. You should also come with ideas about what type of program you want to attend and what’s important to you in a university or business school.
Are the EA and GMAT really that different? Can’t I just prepare for the GMAT but take the EA?
Despite the fact that many big test makers brand the Executive Assessment as a mini-GMAT, the two tests are different. The EA doesn’t include an essay or about half of the topics covered on the GMAT quantitative section. In addition, the EA is much shorter and has a different scoring (Integrated Reasoning IS part of your composite score on the EA, but not the GMAT). If you prepare for the GMAT but take the EA, you will waste time and sanity preparing for topics that aren’t on the test.
