Your SAT Instructor
Eden June Michael is the Senior SAT Instructor. Since 2006, Eden has been honing her caring but effective teaching style based on the Socratic Method. Her former students and clients are now startup CEOs, diplomats, executives, entrepreneurs, and department heads. She even taught a princess!
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia USA, Eden worked with top test preparation companies including The Princeton Review and Veritas Prep in the USA, Thailand, and the UAE. She has been offering SAT tutoring in Dubai for more than 15 years. During her career, Eden has taught students from over 50 countries that have gone on to attend more than 100 schools worldwide.
Eden is a Google Certified Educator with over 5 years of online teaching experience and a certified Executive Coach. Raised in Atlanta, Eden earned a BSChE from Georgia Tech and an MS from Florida State University. Prior to becoming an SAT instructor, she was a consultant for an engineering firm. When Eden is not tutoring, she travels, goes to the beach, and reads.

Frequently Asked Questions about SAT Tutoring in Dubai
Can I still take the pencil and paper SAT?
Starting in March 2023, only the Digital SAT is offered outside of the US. Students taking the SAT in Dubai have to take the Digital SAT. But don’t worry! We’ll prepare you for the Digital SAT and help you troubleshoot your technical issues before test day.
Do I have to take the SAT?
If you want to go to university in the United States, you can take the SAT or ACT. In Dubai, there are more preparation options for the SAT. For universities outside the US, the SAT may be required so be sure you have an idea of where you want to go before you start the process. If you want to attend university in the UAE, you will most likely have to take the SAT.
Is the essay required?
No. As of January 2021, the College Board no longer offers the essay on the SAT.
When should I start preparing for the SAT?
You should start your SAT tutoring in Dubai in the first term of your 11th grade year. That gives you plenty of time to take the SAT twice to make sure you get your best score. If you start preparing in October, November, or December, you would complete 1 class a week for about 4 months. This schedule easily allows you to complete the homework, do full-length practice tests, and maintain good grades in school.
Should I take the SAT twice?
Absolutely! Most universities super score your results. In other words, they take your best scores from the math and verbal (reading and writing) and put them together for a new score that is higher than what you got on each exam separately. If you only take the SAT once, you won’t have the opportunity to super score your results (so you will be at a disadvantage).
Can I reduce the number of hours I have to prepare?
Yes, you can. It really depends on your baseline SAT score and if you have done any preparation before. Remember that private SAT tutoring in Dubai should be tailored to your needs rather than the institute’s or instructor’s needs.
How many hours do I have to study each week?
It depends on when you are taking the SAT. If you are taking the SAT in 6 weeks, you will need 2 lessons per week (4 hours total) and about 4 hours to complete the homework. Expect to study for 8 to 10 hours a week.
If you are taking the SAT in a few months, you can do 1 lesson per week (2 hours) and complete the homework in 2 hours. We prefer this schedule for students in the 11th grade because it allows them to integrate SAT studying with their normal school work. Students on this schedule also tend to score higher because they have time to complete more practice tests and integrate the lessons into how they take the SAT.
Are there any tutoring terms and conditions?
SAT Tutoring in Dubai Terms and Conditions: The actual number of hours depends on student availability and scores from a diagnostic test. Fees are payable in advance in blocks of 10 hours. Discounts may be given for additional hours and preparation for multiple tests. Typical hours required for test preparation are as follows. A firm quotation will be provided prior to registration.
Can’t I just do troubleshooting?
Troubleshooting is appropriate for students that have already taken a test preparation course or have previously taken the test after significant study on their own. It is not as thorough as comprehensive preparation since the focus is only on specific test topics. Once students complete an online diagnostic test and send the results to Apply Me, we will pinpoint their problem areas. Homework will be assigned to be completed prior to tutoring sessions.
